1945-2015: 70 Years of the Atlanta Pops Orchestra

2015 marks the 70th anniversary of the Atlanta Pops Orchestra. As we venture into our eighth decade, we will explore the players, programs and performances that have made this distinguished ensemble so memorable. In addition to delving into our own history, we look toward our future with the announcement of upcoming performances throughout the southeast. Our 2014-2015 season will include special concerts and events with some of the best artists performing today.

Our next concert performance is Saturday, September 6 at the Theatre Dublin in Dublin, Georgia. The program will include selections from The Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story and Chicago, as well as music by Gershwin, Hammerstein, Grieg and more. Later in the month, the Atlanta Pops Orchestra will perform its inaugural performance as the official OPAS orchestra at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation. This concert will feature the Oconee Performing Arts Society‘s own Artistic Director and Metropolitan Opera Bass-Baritone, Jeffrey Wells.
